• Matt Fanta is currently President of Forage Genetics International, a vertically integrated provider of value added forages focused on alfalfa. There, he leads the building of Forage Genetics world-wide market position through the use of proprietary products, brands, biotech traits and business partnerships. Previously, Fanta worked in the feed, food and crop inputs businesses at Land O’Lakes, Inc. Fanta holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls and an MBA from the Carlson School at the University of Minnesota.

    Fanta has been recognized for his contributions to agriculture and to the community throughout his career. In 2009 Matt was the recipient of the distinguished Twin Cities 40 Under 40 Award. This award highlights leaders who have accomplished much in their professional lives while giving back to the community.

    Fanta has been an active member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity since his initiation at the Alpha Psi Chapter during the spring of 1994. As a collegiate, he held the VNR Scholarship and the VNR Finance offices. During his time as VNR Finance, Fanta led the implementation of a unique partnering arrangement between the collegiate members and alumni that built a financial foundation for the fraternity house remodeling project in 2011. As an AGR alumnus, he was an active member of the Alpha Psi Alumni board for nine years, including time spent serving as Alumni President.
